Calendar Aging Effect on the Open Circuit Voltage of Lithium-Ion Battery

In recent years, lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) have gained a lot of importance due to the increasing use renewable energy sources and electric vehicles. To ensure that work properly limit their degradation, battery management system needs accurate models capable precisely predicting parameters. Among them, state charge (SOC) estimation is one most important, as it enables prediction battery’s available prevents from operating beyond its safety limits. A common method for SOC involves utilizing relationship between open circuit voltage (OCV). On other hand, latter changes with aging. previous work, authors studied simple function model OCV curve, which was expressed absolute discharge, q, instead SOC. They also analyzed how parameters such curve changed cycle present similar analysis carried out considering calendar aging effect. Three different LiB cells were stored at three levels (low, medium, high levels) around 1000 days, an change in OCV-q performed.
